Open Source Jadebook

jadebook open source version

The goal of Jadebook has always been to help others improve their lives and mental health. But we noticed something, people had a lot of privacy concerns and for good reason. In an age where your data is near priceless, imagine if that one journal app on your phone decided to sell your data. Imagine what companies could do if they knew exactly the type of person you are, how you think, what problems you're dealing with or what events are occurring in your life.

So, we decided to create a completely MIT-licensed, journal platform. One that you can one-click deploy and start using in about 10 minutes (5 of which are just waiting for the app to build).

It comes with pretty everything Jadebook has except the AI stuff. So, entries, goals, transcription, tags, covers, search, PWA support, uploading files, theming etc. We built it to be super easy to deploy, so you don't need a lot of coding knowledge to host it yourself.

While it's currently in beta, a lot of the code is based on the actual production version of Jadebook so you shouldn't get many bugs or problems. We also support import/export between the open-source version and the normal version.
