Helping people understand themselves
We’re here to spark self-discovery, self-awareness, and introspection. Hopefully, this will make your life better.
Our mission
The world is fast, loud, and increasingly disconnected from the inner self. In the middle of that chaos, journaling has always been a quiet form of resistance—a simple yet powerful way to reduce anxiety, gain clarity, and reconnect with what really matters.
I’ve tried many journaling apps over the years. Some were polished but expensive. Others felt rushed or restrictive, locking essential features behind paywalls. Many just didn’t feel personal—or thoughtful. So I built my own.
Jadebook started as a personal project. One developer, designing a space that felt calm, insightful, and actually helpful. A journal that’s fast, secure by default, and works seamlessly across devices. Built from the ground up to prioritize depth, self-discovery, and accessibility.
Yes, it’s just me—for now. But that’s not where the story ends. Jadebook is designed to grow carefully and consciously, with a deep respect for the people who use it. That means no invasive ads, no sudden paywalls, and no empty promises. Just a quiet commitment to building something better, one step at a time.
If you’ve been looking for a journal that’s not just another app—but a space made with care—you’re in the right place. I’d be honored to have you along for the journey.
Integrating AI
What if you could talk to your journal?
AI took the world by storm and it's proven to be fairly useful. So, how do we use it to improve the journal experience? Like in a genuinely safe and helpful way? That's the question that makes Jadebook special.
First, let's allow users to let an AI scan through their entry and extract key information. We store this information in a secure manner.
Then, each time we "memorize" a new entry, we pass the previous generation as context. This creates a loop in which the AI constantly learns and improves.
Lastly, we let users talk to their journal and the AI will respond with all the context. (Like an actual "Dear Diary" moment). We keep user data but only storing the essentials and anything stored is always encrypted.

Constantly improving
Building a journal that people actually want. That means getting feedback and constantly improving.
What's done
Currently it's at a point where I can use it as my personal journal. But not everyone is me, so I'm working on making it better. For now, the actual entries, search, prompted entries, goals, search, tags and AI features are all done. Of course, they'll improve with more user feedback but they're solid.
Most additional features have also been completed. This includes asset management, bulk exports, and more. The main thing left is the mobile app which is currently being worked on. We're planning for a Q3 2025 release.
