I'm Tanvir, and I'm the solo developer behind Jadebook, a web journal designed to innovate personal growth through journaling and the power of AI.

I've always believed in the power of journaling yet, the current mainstream platforms were frustrating: features were locked behind paywalls, true innovation was scarce, and the experience often felt static, not dynamic. I envisioned a journaling tool that wasn't just a digital notebook, but a genuine companion for clarity, insight, and lasting change.

This vision led me to create Jadebook.

We really wanted to make sure that the AI enhances your reflection, rather than detracting you from the core writing experience.

From day one, accessibility has been paramount. I firmly believe tools for personal growth should be available to everyone.

That's why Jadebook offers a robust Free Tier that includes everything you'd expect from other platforms – text formatting, writing prompts, guided entries, and even speech recognition.

And we didn't want to restrict our users

• Data Ownership: Export your journal entries at any time. Your data is yours.
• Deep Customization: Control UI elements, enable or disable features, and tailor the experience to your preferences.
• AI Choices: Select from Gemini 2.0 Flash, Llama 4 Maverick, or OpenAI GPT-4.1 mini, putting you in control of the underlying AI model. You can even hide most of the AI features if you just want the core experience.

The Solo Developer's Journey: From Idea to Launch

Building Jadebook over the past eight months has been an intense, rewarding, and humbling solo journey. Every line of code, every design decision, every feature has been designed for a singular vision: to create the best possible tool for personal growth.

Two months ago, I had a very quiet `open beta` launch. It was a learning experience that led to significant improvements. I've listened, iterated tirelessly, and built dozens of major enhancements to ensure Jadebook truly delivers on its promise.

This isn't just a product; it's my way of contributing to a world where everyone has the tools to understand themselves better and deal with life's anxieties with greater clarity and direction.

What's Next for Jadebook?

Today, June 2nd, 2025, marks the official launch of Jadebook. I'm incredibly excited to put this work out into the world and build a community committed to self-discovery.

My immediate focus is on listening to you, the users, and continuing to refine the platform. If this launch goes well, the next major step will undoubtedly be developing a dedicated mobile app, which I believe will further enhance the journaling experience.
